Ms. McGee is the Director of Ocean and Coastal Solutions at Battelle. Ms. McGee has worked with state and regional entities all over the U.S. on coastal zone management, marine science and fisheries management. Specifically, she has worked on state/territory coordination on Coastal Zone Management Act reauthorization, regional ocean governance establishment, estuarine science and management through the National Estuary and National Estuarine Research Reserve programs and the Regional Fishery Management Councils. Her 17 years of professional experience includes marine science and policy, coastal zone management, sensitive marine area identification and management, ecosystem services evaluation, social and economic analyses, GIS analyses and mapping, coastal and marine indicator and proxy attribute modeling, climate change adaptation planning, ecosystem-based marine spatial planning and management, fisheries science and policy, environmental impact statements, biological assessments, endangered species threats and stressors determination and conservation, industry and stakeholder engagements.
She has direct experience working as regulatory staff within the U.S. Government and state government and understands the scientific and technical rigor required for management alternatives to be evaluated. She has the experience, credentials and reputation as an excellent collaborator and has successfully partnered with interested groups, industry members, private non-profits and other stakeholders to form cohesive management strategies by communicating regularly with a wide variety of people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
