Carlton HuntDr. Hunt is a chemical oceanographer with broad experience in estuarine and coastal marine ecosystems. He has experience with the transport, fate, effects, and bioaccumulation of contaminants and water quality impacts of nutrients in diverse coastal systems. This includes contaminants associated with soils, sediments, urban runoff, sewage sludge, sewage effluents and industrial wastes in the marine environment. His contributions to numerous monitoring programs, environmental assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements provide him with an extensive knowledge of water quality, sediment quality and sediment management. He also has researched ways to verify ballast water exchange for the U.S. Coast Guard and others and has supported ballast water discharge standards development.
