Expertise Profile

 Chris Caldow is a coral-reef fish biologist at the Center for Coastal Monitoring and Assessment, a branch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Washington DC. He has recently been involved in the setting up of the National Marine Sanctuary Program at NOAA. His present focus is on the assessment of Marine Protected Areas and essential habitat studies in California, Florida, and the islands of the Caribbean. He has also conducted research in Panama, Belize, Bali, Baja California and the Galapagos Islands. Chris attended the University of California at Santa Barbara and the University of Houston and studied the population structure of coral reef fishes.
